5 Reasons Why We Swept the 2020 Captive Awards

October 09, 2020

This week, we received six awards in the captive industry, demonstrating our capabilities to identify, quantify, mitigate, and finance risk.

Captive Review named us Captive Manager of the Year and Captive Practice Leader Pete Kranz was named Captive Service Provider of the Year.

We also participated in Captive International’s inaugural US Awards. There, we were named the top Captive Management Firm, and Reinsurance Broker.

On an individual basis, Pete Kranz was named top Captive Management Individual, and Senior Vice President Kody Darr was named top Reinsurance Broker Individual.

Want to know more about how we won these awards? Here are the top five reasons:

1. A constant focus on quality

Beecher Carlson delivers quality captive management and consulting services with an innovative approach to captive utilization. Our strategy and consulting services are integrated into our captive practice, enabling you to access the full resources of Beecher Carlson.

2. SOC 1 certification

We have invested in specific policies and procedures designed to streamline our processes – reducing costs associated with internal and external audits. Our SOC 1 certification, a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, certifies that our captive control objectives and control activities have been examined by an independent accounting firm. We are proud to have consistently received a clean opinion on our SOC 1 Type 2 Report since 2006. This investment not only provides our clients with the assurance that appropriate controls are in place over our financial reporting functions but also reduces our clients’ costs associated with internal and external audits.

3. Leading the captive industry in innovation

We lead the industry in innovation. Through the use of deep analytics, stochastic modeling, and deterministic stress testing, our analytics team develops plausible scenarios by which organizations can evaluate recommended program structures which align with their risk tolerance and appetite on an integrated basis – not the traditional line by line evaluation that has been the industry standard for decades. We deliver on the results – we know the markets and we put the programs together.

4. Holding ourselves accountable

We are committed to meeting your objectives and exceeding expectations. Our formula is simple: Performance beyond the required is our standard in all we do. We make that commitment to your company and to you personally. We will not disappoint you.

5. A strong team committed to serving our clients

Our teammates’ passion and skill are evident. Beecher Carlson is led, managed, and staffed by an experienced team of professionals, evidenced by the leadership of Pete Kranz, who received the Captive Service Professional of the Year award and the Captive Management (Individual) award, and Operations Leader Matt Takamine, and demonstrated by our integration with our brokerage teammates like Kody Darr, who received the Reinsurance Broker Individual award.

Beecher Carlson is dedicated to challenging the status quo in the insurance industry. Let us help you think about alternative methods to finance your risk.

Beecher Carlson's team can help develop and customize a risk financing strategy for your organization.
