Joe Ehrlich

Co-National Practice Leader for Private Equity, Family Office, and M&A

Joe serves as Beecher Carlson’s Co-National Practice Leader for Private Equity, Family Office, and M&A. Joe has experience identifying, structuring, and providing insurance products and solutions for private equity firms, family offices, and other investors, individuals, and companies.  

Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Ehrlich was the President of the Owens Group, where he primarily focused on private equity, family office, and M&A insurance solutions. Prior to joining the Owens Group, Joe practiced corporate private equity and M&A law at O’Melveny & Myers LLP and its predecessor, O’Sullivan Graev & Karabell LLP. 

Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classics from Columbia University, and he received his Juris Doctor degree from New York University’s School of Law. He serves on the Columbia University School of General Studies’ Board of Visitors, and he is the Chair of Columbia University’s Benefits Committee. Joe is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee of the Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) and also several other committees within the organization. He is a member of the board of trustees for the Saint Anthony Hall of New York and the board of directors of the Columbia University Club of New York. Joe is also a member and the immediate past president of the NYU Law Alumni Association Board. He is a frequent presenter on M&A/transactional insurance and other related topics at conferences and for various professional groups, law firms, and other organizations and groups.
